'On Track' and 'Fast Track' Maths Workbooks - Junior Secondary
For Years 9 and 10
Sigma's Dual Pathway TRACK Workbooks - preparing students to give their best effort
The key to the success of Sigma’s TRACK MATHS workbooks is the dual pathway they provide for maths teachers and students - ON TRACK and FAST TRACK. In the first two years of secondary school the mathematical ability of students extend over a wider range compared to intermediate school. Sigma solves this issue by providing two workbooks for each year group, so that both mid-band and more able students are provided with their own maths workbook written exclusively for their ability level. Matching the teaching resource to a student's ability level is a crucial factor in the learning process.
ON TRACK Workbooks
Mid-band students should use Sigma’s ON TRACK workbooks because they are written exclusively for them. Sigma has designed these titles to include more revision work from the previous year, allowing mid-band students to refresh their concepts and fill in any missing maths knowledge before tackling new work. This ON TRACK format allows mid-band students to study independently, complete more work, and achieve sound results in mathematics.
FAST TRACK Workbooks
More able maths students (those capable of passing NCEA Level 2-3 courses in the future) will find a wide range of interesting, relevant and challenging study material in Sigma’s FAST TRACK workbooks. The FAST TRACK pathway is aimed at helping advanced students reach Merit and Excellence levels in the subject. Starting on a FAST TRACK workbook at the beginning of the year assumes a student has successfully completed last years maths work.
