TRACK MATHS - Junior Secondary Workbooks
A key feature of our junior secondary TRACK MATHS workbooks is the choice of two workbooks for each of Years 9 and 10. This series provides a ‘dual pathway’ to student success at secondary school. The ON TRACK workbooks are produced with mid-band students in mind and contain some revision work from the previous year, while FAST TRACK workbooks can be used to fully extend more able students. Both workbooks use New Zealand based problems and feature many photographs which help students relate maths to real world situations they are familiar with.
NUMERACY CO-REQUISITE - Workbooks
With changes to the curriculum for 2024, students need 80 credits to pass Level 1 NCEA. Ten of those credits must come from the Literacy Co-requisite exam and ten from the Numeracy Co-requisite exam. The remaining 60 credits are to be made up from other subjects including English and Maths. Our Co-requisite book contains notes and practice questions for the relevant Mathematics skills at curriculum levels 4 and 5 in preparation for the NCEA Numeracy co-requisite exam. In addition to working through these books, students are advised to gain as much experience in real-world english and maths as they can.
Numeracy Co-requisite : Realistic ideas of measurements and the cost of everyday items, strong concepts of time and how to read timetables and maps will help support them on their Numeracy journey. It is worth noting that the Numeracy Co-requisite assessment is not a test of mental arithmetic or speed of calculations, students are able to have a calculator in the assessment and to take as long as they need to complete it.
NCEA SINGLE STANDARD Workbooks - NCEA Level 1
The New NCEA 2024 Curriculum for Level 1 students, Sigma Publications provides a series of seven NCEA Level 1 ‘Single-Standard’ workbooks, where each workbook contains study material for one NCEA Achievement Standard, and two workbooks that cover Maths (1.2 and 1.4) and Statistics (1.1 and 1.3). This set of Level 1 NCEA workbooks give students or teachers the freedom to buy only those workbooks that cover the standards they are studying. Each contains enough material to be used as an in-class teaching resource or as study material before exams. Exercises, problems and even the language used are based on the most up-to-date NCEA maths assessments.
With our original series (available while stocks last) Sigma provides a series of thirteen NCEA Level 1 ‘Single-Standard’ workbooks, where each workbook contains study material for one NCEA Achievement Standard as required prior to the 2024 curriculum refresh.
